Freedom Leisure schemes support local sporting talent

Talented young athletes from across the Malvern Hills are being given the chance to win a £200 grant or a free gym membership for the year thanks to Freedom Leisure.

Active Communities is excited to announce this year's ballot grant, where the winnings have been kindly donated by Malvern Splash.

Groups are being encouraged to apply before Friday, 31 May, to be in with a chance of winning £200 for their club.

The top three applications will be accepted into the public ballot where Freedom Leisure customers can vote for their favourite club. The vote will open on 10 June and will be available for one month.

The team with the most tokens will then be invited to the Malvern Hills Community Sports Awards on 11 July where they will be awarded the £200 certificate.

Athletes from across the district also have the chance to win a full year membership to their chosen Malvern Hills Freedom Leisure facility.

The annual Freedom Leisure Talented Athlete Support Scheme (FLTASS) is an award given to high level athletes either training or living in the district.

Applications for the FLTASS close at the end of June.

Adele Hodges, Active Communities Officer for Freedom Leisure, said: "We are pleased to offer these schemes which aim to support local talent and provide the opportunity for clubs and individuals to excel in their chosen sport."
