Great Malvern Farmers’ Market in the running for national award

The popular Farmers' Market in Great Malvern has been shortlisted for a national award together with some of the best farm retailers in the UK.

The Farm Retail Association recently announced its finalists for the national Farm Retail Awards 2023, which will take place on 7 March at Sandy Park in Exeter.

Great Malvern Farmers' Market has been selected as a finalist in the Farmers' Market of the Year category and will be up against Moseley Farmers' Market and Cliftonville Farmers' Market.

The market, now in its 4th year, is organised by Boffy Arts Events People with support from Malvern Hills District Council.

Businesses from around the country have been shortlisted across eight different categories, including Rising Star Award which celebrates newcomers to the industry, Large Farm Shop of the Year, Farm Café/Restaurant of the Year, and PYO (Pick Your Own) of the Year.

Cllr Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council said: "We are delighted to hear that this much-loved market has been shortlisted for Farmers' Market of the Year. We are really lucky to have such an important regular event in our town, not only does it encourage residents and visitors to shop local and support our local traders, but it also showcases some of the best home-grown produce in the district."

Steve Boffy, from Boffy Arts Events People, said: "We are extremely proud to be shortlisted again for this prestigious award. My wife and I have worked hard to create a market that celebrates quality produce of the highest standard. We have a great team of local traders and enjoy the support of Malvern shoppers and visitors alike. It is quite daunting to be in the top three farmers markets nationally, and whilst we would love to win the award, we are just pleased that our efforts are being recognised and we can fly the flag for Malvern"
