Jobs match event a huge success
Some 50 job seekers were lined up for potential roles as part of Malvern Hills District Council's first jobs match.
The event, run in partnership with Malvern Job Centre, has been hailed a huge success with a waiting list of companies keen to take part in future job match schemes.
Job seekers registered their interest in one of the broad role types on offer.
They were then offered interview slots which took place in the Council Chamber off Avenue Road on Wednesday (11 August). Job offers will now be made to successful candidates.
Jobs on offer ranged from joinery and catering to health care and marketing.
Organisations taking part included the NHS, software and verification system provider D-RisQ, bespoke designer kitchen company Roundhouse, finance group Inksmoor and Jark Recruitment.
SW Healthcare found success at the event and offered six jobseekers with the opportunity to apply and interview for the available roles.
The event is part of the council's commitment to helping tackle the skills shortage affecting companies across the district and to help people into work. There are plans to hold the event again in the Autumn.
Cllr Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism on Malvern Hills District Council, said: "We're delighted with the success of our first job match event and that so many people were able to find work and fill much needed gaps in the district's workforce. We look forward to running more of these events in the future."
