Walking Netball comes to Malvern
Freedom Leisure is working together with England Netball to bring a series of Walking Netball sessions to Malvern. The £3 classes take place every Saturday at 10am-11am and are being held at the Sport Dyson Perrins sports hall.
Walking Netball is a slower version of the ever popular game and has been designed to suit all ages and fitness levels. The sport is perfect for anyone returning from injury, getting back into exercise or just looking for something a little bit social.
Recent research conducted by Sport England(1) has stated that: "Sport and physical activity can help prevent or manage medical conditions, reduce anxiety, stress or depression, improve a person's confidence or self-esteem or bring people from diverse backgrounds together."
Freedom Leisure, operator of four leisure facilities within Malvern Hills on behalf of the Malvern Hills District Council, is collaborating with England Netball to extend the walking sports offer within the community, supporting residents to stay active.
Tom Mansfield, Centre manager of Sport Dyson Perrins, said: "We are so pleased to be able to extend our activities timetable to offer walking netball in Malvern. We are keen to provide sports to cater for all ages and abilities- ensuring physical activity is available to all. We hope to see many new faces."
