Celebrate the unique and varied history of the Malvern District with the return of the annual Midsummer Malvern Festival.
The event, which will run from 19 to 27 June, has been organised by Malvern Civic Society and is a one-week celebration of community activity.
Malvern is famous for its stories relating to the Victorian Water Cure, Benedictine Monks, Morgan Motor Cars, Sir Edward Elgar, Radar, and with many more tales from bygone eras, there's plenty of important connections to celebrate and commemorate.
During the week there will be a number of guided walks, treasure hunts and activities across various locations, including The Council House and Victoria Park, which will delve into the district's historical connections.
There will be two special events, including the exhibition at Elmslie House which focuses on the life and work of Victor Moody RA and his daughter, Catherine. Malvern Civic Society received a grant of £500 from Malvern Hills District Council to host the exhibition.
Directors of the Malvern School of Art, they are renowned for their promotion of the Arts and Crafts style of painting. Victor was an important middle ranking artist from the early 1930s working in the tradition of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Last year marked the 30th anniversary of his death. This is an opportunity to see pictures that are not on public display, all for free.
The second event is the memorial Tree Trail in Priory Park to Dudley Brook, who is a past president of Malvern Civic Society and long-term resident. He contributed to many aspects of activities in the town from school governor to support of the Malvern Spa Association. His particular interest was the wonderful diversity of trees in Malvern and he led many guided tree walks.
The Tree Trail will be inaugurated at the Midsummer Malvern Opening Ceremony on Saturday 19 June by Cllr Cynthia Palmer, Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council.
In addition, the Three Counties Showground will be hosting a new event called the Midsummer Garden Life Festival from 23-25 June 2021. Visitors can enjoy a colourful Midsummer party with beautiful plants, wonderful entertainment, and delicious local produce.

It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the district's heritage and to celebrate its many historical icons".

It is so important to not take this for granted and to pass the tradition on to other generations. Make sure you visit an exhibition or join a walk during the week".
