Grass Cutting
Grass cutting usually starts in April and continues through to October, but this will alter slightly from year to year to meet the variations in weather and the condition of the grass.
We aim to cut the grass in urban areas approximately six times per year. In formal park land the grass is cut more frequently and in wild life areas the grass is cut less frequently.
At times when grass growth is at a minimum the council reserves the right to suspend grass cutting. In addition, grass cutting may be suspended to divert resources where they are needed in times of flooding or other emergencies.
We generally only cut land belonging to us but we also maintain a number of grass verges on behalf of the county council's highways department.
To report any grass cutting issues, please use the council parks and open spaces report it section.
