Return of food festival delights crowds

Thousands of people enjoyed some of the finest tastes the local area has to offer at this year's Great Malvern Food Festival.

More than 40 market stalls and street vendors served up everything from delicious sweet treats to fine cheeses.

Visitors also enjoyed live cookery demonstrations with top local chefs on hand to show people how to create fabulous dishes at home using locally sourced produce from stallholders.

The festival, now in its 10th year, was held over two days (Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 July) for the first time and in the new location of Priory Park in Malvern. It was a welcome return for the event which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

The festival was organised by Malvern Hills District Council working in partnership with Boffy Events and supported by Windsor Court, the new retirement village and care home in Great Malvern.

Cllr Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Tourism on Malvern Hills District Council, said: "It was wonderful to see the food festival back and fantastic to see so many people enjoying the delicious delights and local flavours from the area. The planning starts now to make next year even bigger and better."
