Statement regarding Malvern Hills College

On 1 August 2023 the High Court delivered its judgment on the claim brought by Warwickshire College Group to set aside the covenant which has protected the use of the Malvern Hills College site as an educational facility for the local community.

Recognising the college's immense value in enriching the lives of residents of Malvern and beyond for over a century, the council has been committed to preserving this cherished institution for future generations.

We are disappointed that the High Court has now ruled to set aside the covenant, placing the future use of the college as an educational facility at risk. The council has exhausted every avenue in its efforts to secure the future of the college but must respect the decision of the court.

The future of the college is in the hands of Warwickshire College Group and we continue to urge them to find a way forward that supports the long tradition of education on this site.
