NEWS: Businesses across the district receive funding boost

Businesses across the Malvern Hills District have received a funding boost to help them grow and prosper.

The funding, delivered by Malvern Hills District Council, comes from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

UKSPF is a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.

The fund focuses on pride in place and increasing life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, people, and skills.

Local businesses who have already benefitted from a grant include:

  • Cob House Country Park, Wichenford - £2,500 for a new play area.
  • Boundless Outdoors, Malvern - £1,934 to improve visitor experience and accessibility.
  • Wagtail Retreats Ltd, Worcestershire - £1,171 EV charging points for new glamping.
  • The Fig, Great Malvern - £2,500 towards new Deli.
  • Pitter Potter, Tenbury - £2,500 towards a new shop.
  • Salon number 6, Upton on Severn - £2,500 for refurbishment.
  • Malvern Pride, Malvern Rocks and the new En Plein Air arts market have also received UKSPF grants towards festival and event development.

Cllr Beverley Nielsen, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We are so pleased local businesses have taken the opportunity to grow and develop with the help of this grant. We would encourage any local organisation to take a look and see if this fund can help support your business.”
