Communities across the Malvern Hills District will have the chance to apply for their share of £1 million to improve the open spaces and facilities in their area.
The Community Facility Legacy Grant Scheme aims to support communities to become healthier, safer, and stronger by ensuring they have access to high-quality public open spaces and facilities.
The scheme, which is being launched by Malvern Hills District Council on 11 April 2025, will be available to charities, not-for-profit organisations, town and parish councils, and more to apply for a grant of up to £100,000, with match funding required for applications above £15,000.
The grants can be used to improve or adapt a new or existing public open space or community facilities, such as a new football pitch, indoor community centre or village halls, including associated car park improvements, parks, youth activity areas, allotments, and much more.
Mark Hammond, Community Infrastructure and Developments Manager at Malvern Hills District Council said: “This Grant Scheme is a key component of the Council Plan, it is also a great opportunity for community organisations across the district to improve facilities and open spaces to help support the wellbeing of our communities.”
The scheme opens for applications on Friday 11 April and closes at midnight on Sunday 8 June 2025.
