Upton upon Severn is enjoying a record year for group visits, with 11 groups visiting so far in 2026.
Further tours are scheduled for September, including visits from the Evesham Walking Group and the Cambrian Archaeological Society.
The growing number of organised trips highlights Upton’s appeal as an attractive and accessible destination for walking groups, societies, and other organisations looking for an enjoyable day out.
A typical visit can combine some of Upton’s best-known attractions and experiences, including boat trips along the River Severn, The Pepperpot (Upton’s oldest surviving building which is currently undergoing renovation), and the Tudor House Museum.
A key part of the success has been the support available through the Upton Tourist Information Centre, support includes:
- Itinerary development
- Meet and greet service and introductory talk on the coach
- Talk inside The Pepperpot Heritage Centre
- Heritage guided walk around the town
- Organising boat trips and visits to the Tudor House Museum, with tea and cake in the museum garden
- Coach driver’s lunch voucher
Cllr Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We are delighted to see Upton continuing to build its reputation as a welcoming destination for group travel, it's a fantastic boost for the town and its local businesses.
