Help to pay your Council Tax bill

Residents struggling to pay their Council Tax bill are being urged to seek help from Malvern Hills District Council.

The Revenues and Benefits team is working hard to support people who find themselves in financial difficulty because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anyone who cannot pay their Council Tax bill should check to see if they can apply for Council Tax Support. A successful claim will reduce the amount of Council Tax people need to pay.

If someone does not quality for Council Tax Support, then they should contact the team to discuss their situation. Other options available include spreading payments through until March, rather than stopping in January, which will lower the monthly amount payable.

Cllr Sarah Rouse, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council, said: "If people can continue to pay their Council Tax then it's important they do so. This money is paying for vital services funding the Covid-19 response such as supporting businesses, helping residents in need, and maintaining essential services like bin collections. It's also funding crucial services provided by other organisations like adult social care and the police.

"But we understand people are struggling in these difficult times. Our staff want to help and support you, so please don't hesitate to get in touch to find out what can be arranged.

"If you need help please don't leave it, get in touch as soon as possible."
