Deadline to submit project ideas to Spacehive fast approaching

Organisations and charities across the Malvern Hills District have just over a week left to submit their project ideas for the latest round of funding on Spacehive.

Project ideas need to be submitted to the crowdfunding platform by the deadline of 22 September 2021.

The funds available from Malvern Hills District Council are the new £150,000 People Make Places Fund, as well as the Ticket to Ride Fund and Ward Member Budget.

So far, the council has invested almost £63,500 into projects which have raised more than £169,000 in total.

The People Make Places fund supports innovative community projects that aim to enhance the lives of people across the district.

The fund will run for three years, over six rounds and the maximum amount pledged to a project by the council will be £20,000 or 50% of the total project costs. Residents, organisations, businesses, and charities can also donate as little as £2 to support the projects

as well.

Malvern Hills District Council will provide the funding to organisations with project ideas that will help benefit the district and bring the community together.

The fund is underpinned by the principles of equality and inclusivity and so project creators must demonstrate how they have ensured the project is accessible.

Cllr Tom Wells, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Communities at Malvern Hills District Council, said: "The deadline is fast approaching, and we are encouraging charities and organisations to submit their project ideas to help build strong, resilient and sustainable communities . The People Make Places fund supports projects that improve mental and physical health, enhance lives through events, protect the natural environment and more."
