Take part in Residents' Survey and have your say

Malvern Hills District Council's Annual Residents' Survey returns this weekend and offers people the chance to have their say and influence council decisions.

The survey asks questions on a variety of different topics, including what people think of their local area and the services the council provides.

It opens on Sunday, 17 September, and will be available until the deadline on Sunday, 15 October 2023.

The online survey takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete but progress can be saved so it can be completed in stages.

The feedback from the survey will be considered and used to improve services. This year residents are being asked to share their priorities for the district which will feed into development of the council's revised strategic Five Year Plan for 2024/25.

When these questions were last asked in 2021 residents said one of their top priorities was climate change and carbon emissions. As a result, this was built into the 2022/23 strategic plan and, since then, action has been taken to deliver it.

For example, to help reduce carbon emissions, Malvern Hills District Council introduced hydrotreated vegetable oil into a number of waste fleet vehicles, installed solar tiles and battery storage in council-owned toilets, as well as improving energy efficiency measures at Malvern Splash and Malvern Theatres following energy audits.

Electric vehicle charging points have also been installed in council-owned car parks across the district, and further secondary glazing and a new building management system has been installed at the Council House.

For the second year residents who complete the survey will be able to enter a prize draw with a number of £75 vouchers up for grabs to use at a local, independent restaurant or retailer in the area of their choice within the Malvern Hills District.

Cllr Tom Wells, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council, said: "Our Annual Residents' Survey is a great opportunity to gain feedback on what is important to people within the district and to understand what residents think of the services we provide.

"The responses will help us to identify any improvements or changes needed, and gives residents the opportunity to feed into shaping our strategic plan for the coming financial year"

Visit www.malvernhills.gov.uk/consultations for more information and to take part. The survey is only open to Malvern Hills District residents.

Residents will need to take part in the survey to enter the prize draw to win a £75 voucher. Terms and conditions apply.
