NEWS: Welcome signs installed in Upton

Three new welcome signs have been installed in Upton upon Severn.

The signs have been funded by Malvern Hills District Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

UKSPF is a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.

The fund focuses on pride in place and increasing life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, people, and skills.

Signs have replaced existing ones as part of a signage review that Malvern Hills District Council are undertaking across the district.

The signs are located at the three main entrances into Upton upon Severn - Hanley Road, Upton Marina, and the A4104 by Old Welland Road.

Cllr Beverley Nielsen, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “These signs will provide a lovely refresh to the town and a nice welcome for visitors. We are in the process of replacing signage in all our towns to improve getting about for pedestrians, visitors, residents and motorists.”
