Whether you're moving into, within, or out of the Malvern Hills district, it's important to let us know so we can make sure your Council Tax account is up to date.

New to Malvern?

Welcome! If you're moving into the district, our Welcome to Malvern page contains useful information to help you settle into your new home.

Once you've moved in, please complete our Moving In form so we can set up your Council Tax account.

Moving within the Area

If you currently pay, or have paid Council Tax within the last few years, to Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council or Wychavon District Council, and you are moving to another property within one of these areas where you will be responsible for paying Council Tax, please complete the Moving Within the Area form.

Already Receiving Benefits?

If you currently receive Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support, from Malvern Hills District Council, please tell us as soon as possible if you have moved.

You can do this by completing the appropriate Change in Circumstances form.

Moving Out of the Area

If you're moving outside the Malvern Hills, Worcester City or Wychavon districts, or you will no longer be responsible for paying Council Tax at your new address, please complete the Moving Out form.

If you currently pay by Direct Debit, we recommend that you cancel your Direct Debit with your bank once you've notified us that you are moving.

If your Council Tax account is closed and there is a credit balance, any refund will normally be paid back to the same bank account used for your Direct Debit. Please note that refunds can only be issued if there is no outstanding Council Tax owed on any other account held in your name.

Landlords – Change of Tenancy

If you are a landlord and need to tell us about a change of tenants at your property, please complete the Change of Tenancy form.

Other things you may need to do when you move home

Register to Vote

If you've moved home, don't forget to update your Voting and Elections.

You can register to vote at your new address through the GOV.UK Register to Vote service.

Garden Waste Collection

If you subscribe to the Garden Waste Service, please let us know if:

• you are moving within the district;
• you are moving out of the district; or
• you are moving into a property that already has a brown garden waste bin.

Changed Your Name?

If you've changed your name, please let us know so we can update your Council Tax account.

Need to Report a Death?

If someone in your household has sadly passed away, please let us know so we can update your Council Tax account where necessary.
