Live and Local

Malvern Hills District Council have an established commitment to the arts and have invested in the Live and Local Programme for some time. The Live and Local Programme is a national arts organisation, part-funded by the Arts Council, to support voluntary local groups that bring the arts into the community.

Live and Local brings the arts to rural areas in the form of professional musicians and actors providing a high-quality performance to local residents in the communities you represent.

These events focus on building our stronger communities, establishing our Good Neighbour networks and our commitment towards Asset Based Community Development. In turn, this forages a strong community connection, allowing residents to join together in a fun, informal, and entertaining group.

There is no payment upfront, the community group simply completes an online form and gives 3 preferences of dates and productions they are interested in from the extensive online list of various acts. Throughout the whole process the Live and Local staff support from promotion posters, marketing the event, tickets, room layout and overall guidance on how the evening will flow.  These can take place in a village hall, community centres, churches, and local schools.

There are so many quality shows available, there will be no trouble finding something to appeal to a variety of different age groups and the acts are all professionals who provide very high-quality performances in the community for the community.
