The Localism Act introduced new rights and powers for local communities.
In particular it has opened the way for voluntary and community organisations, not for profits, charities and social enterprises to trigger a procurement exercise known as Community Right to Challenge, by expressing an interest in providing or assisting in the provision of council services.
This Council has noted the new proposals for the Community Right to Challenge, and will actively facilitate challenges where they are considered to be in the best interests of the residents and businesses of the Malvern Hills District.
